1. Introduction
Fylmsk (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is an antique jewelry care journal for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes, how it is stored, and what choices you have.
Fylmsk is designed as a local-first app. Your jewelry collection, wear and care logs, photos, voice notes, and preferences are stored on your device. We do not operate a Fylmsk user account or cloud sync service.
2. Information stored on your device
When you use Fylmsk, the following data may be created and saved locally on your iPhone:
- Collection data — piece names, materials, era notes, storage locations, rotation order, piece sets, and loan records.
- Wear & care logs — occasion tags, tarnish levels, care methods, dates, text notes, and related metadata.
- Media files — photos attached to pieces or logs, exported cards saved by you, and optional voice notes (stored in the app’s private storage).
- App preferences — collector name, polish reminder settings, occasion tags, coin balance, and similar settings.
This data remains on your device unless you delete it in the app (for example, via Clear All Data in the Me menu) or remove the app.
3. Information we do not collect
Fylmsk does not require you to create an account. We do not operate servers that receive your jewelry collection, photos, or journal history. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Device permissions
Fylmsk may request the following iOS permissions. You can deny any optional permission and still use most features.
- Notifications — to deliver local polish reminders you enable in Me > Polish Reminders.
- Camera — to photograph jewelry pieces, wear logs, and care entries.
- Photo Library (read) — to choose existing images for your vault or journal entries.
- Photo Library (add) — to save exported HD piece cards and shareable images to your camera roll when you choose.
- Microphone — to record optional voice notes on wear and care logs.
- App Tracking Transparency — on supported iOS versions, the system may ask whether Fylmsk can track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. If you decline, Fylmsk continues to work. We do not use this permission to access your jewelry data.
Permission choices are managed by iOS. You can change them anytime in Settings > Fylmsk.
5. In-app purchases
Fylmsk offers optional coin packs as consumable in-app purchases through Apple’s App Store. Payment is processed entirely by Apple. We receive purchase confirmation from Apple to credit coins in the app; we do not receive your full payment card details.

6. Data sharing
We do not share your on-device collection data with advertisers or data brokers. Information may be shared only in these limited cases:
- When you choose to export or share — for example, saving an HD card to Photos, exporting a PDF, or using the iOS share sheet.
- With Apple — when you make an in-app purchase or use system services (notifications, permissions).
- If required by law — to comply with applicable legal obligations.
7. Data retention & deletion
Your data is kept on your device for as long as you keep the app and do not delete it. You can remove all app data using Me > Clear All Data. Uninstalling Fylmsk removes local app data from your device, subject to iOS backup behavior if you use iCloud Backup.
8. Children’s privacy
Fylmsk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will assist with deletion steps on the device.
9. International users
Fylmsk stores data on your device. If you use the app outside your home country, your data remains on the device you use unless you choose to back up the device through Apple services.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect changes. Continued use of Fylmsk after an update means you accept the revised policy.
